With over 30 years of experience in public service and real property taxation, I founded Heritage Property Tax Consultants with a simple mission: to help property owners pay only their fair share of real property taxes.

Since 2019, I’ve served as the Beaufort County Assessor, bringing deep expertise in ad valorem taxation, real estate exemptions, and the South Carolina Code of Laws that govern property tax.

As a University of South Carolina graduate, I’ve always had a strong commitment to public service.  My career began in 1991, and over the decades, I’ve worked my way through nearly every role in the Assessor’s office—gaining firsthand insight into how assessments are developed, challenged, and resolved.  I’ve had the privilege of serving the citizens of both Hampton County and Beaufort County, and during my 24 years with Beaufort County, I actively contributed to six countywide reassessments. My experience has been recognized by the South Carolina Administrative Law Court, where I’ve been accepted as an expert witness in ad valorem taxation and real property valuation.

Founding Heritage Property Tax Consultants was a natural extension of that calling. After decades inside government, I saw the need for an advocate on the other side—someone who understands the system and can help individuals, families, and businesses navigate it confidently.
